Cape Town is famous for its picturesque beaches and stunning coastlines, which attract millions of visitors from around the world every year. The Atlantic Seaboard is the perfect place for those who are looking for a relaxing and fun-filled trip to the beach.


Here are the top five beaches around Cape Town:


Camps Bay Beach

Located in the heart of the Camps Bay suburb, this beach is famous for its crystal-clear water and golden sand. It is perfect for swimming and sunbathing. There are umbrellas and sun loungers available to rent for the day, just remember to bring some cash. Camps Bay beach is always buzzing with lots of restaurants and bars just across the street. Make a whole day out of it, bring a change of clothes and walk straight from the beach to a restaurant for dinner and drinks.

Clifton Beaches

Consisting of four beaches named 1st through 4th. The beaches are all accessible by stairs only. the steps are not too long but quite steep. It is definitley worth a few minutes of panting in the heat to spend the day at clifton.

1st Beach is the most popular out of the 4 for surfing and body boarding as this little bay gets more wind and swell. 2nd and 3rd beaches are most sheltered and are great for windy days. 3rd beach is the smallest and usually the least crowded. 4th beach is the biggest, most popular and the least built up. This is a great place to start if you are not sure which one to go to..

Llandudno Beach
25-30 minutes

This secluded beach is surrounded by majestic mountains and is known for its stunning sunsets. pack a picninc and spnd the whole day on the beach here. we definitley recommend brining an umbrella. Th only downside is that the water here is often very cold..




Bakoven Beach
20-25 minutes

This is a small, secluded beach located in between camps bay and Llandudno . It is a great spot for swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking. The beach offers beautiful views of the Twelve Apostles mountain range and is the perfect place to escape the crowds. It also has a perfect little bay for swimming.



Bikini Beach
45-60 minutes

If you are keen to venture a little further out Bikini Beach in gordons bay is a great option. It stays calm and sheltered even on the windiest days and in season there are life guards on the beach. The ablution facilities are well maintained and the beach is always clean. Gordons bay itself is a cute and buzzing village with lots of options for food and drink.
